who we are

First Presbyterian is a local church--a community of people whose lives are being renewed by Jesus. We are a small, family oriented congregation, located in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, beside Chickamauga Battlefield. Since Jesus has showered his love on us, we desire to love each other and really care for each other as we grow in the faith.

Worship is central for us at First Presbyterian. We gather to proclaim to the LORD and to each other that God alone deserves praise and worship. We hear God speak as the Bible is read, preached, and taught. We respond with prayer, confession, offerings, and song. We work hard to give God the glory and honor He deserves. Our elders lead us in worship that is solidly biblical, exalts Jesus, and forms our character and lives.

Our congregation is part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), a Bible believing Reformed Presbyterian denomination. Our connection with the PCA gives us accountability to the broader church of Jesus.
